Meet the locals is the theme for this year’s RDA-Workshop

The 42nd RDA-Workshop from 5 to 7 July 2016 is Europe’s largest B2B trade-only exhibition focussing exclusively on the requirements of the coach and group travel sectors. This annual exhibition brings together coach tourism companies, tourism destinations, group travel organisers and coach holiday suppliers. Entrance is free for trade visitors.

The RDA-Workshop’s range of exhibitors provides a unique opportunity for generating ideas for new innovative group travel. There is no other exhibition where UK trade members can meet so many potential coach tourism suppliers and group travel partners.

RDA-Workshop exhibitors range from accommodation providers, sea carriers, theme parks, musicals, tourist boards, incoming agencies, group travel wholesalers and visitor attractions to individual and family-run restaurants and hotels throughout mainland Europe and beyond.

Meeting new business partners and nurturing business contacts are two of the principal reasons given by UK trade visitors to previous RDA-Workshops for visiting the three-day event.

The theme of this year's RDA-Workshop is ‘Meet the Locals – authentic travel’. It is an excellent theme that reflects growing customer demand for lively, authentic and memorable human, cultural, natural and gastronomic experiences in coach holiday destinations.

“The RDA-Workshop is a veritable gem for business contacts for UK coach holiday operators and group travel organisers” says Anna Schwenck, project manager, RDA-Workshop Touristik-Service, “Co-operative ventures may be entered into and solidified, bookings made, trends accessed and new ideas adopted. The RDA-Workshop is a must for all UK companies and holiday destinations interested in growing their coach and group travel business – whether this is inbound or outbound – and for all group travel organisers seeking stimuli for their 2017/2018 programmes”.

The popular RDA-Workshop Trend Forum will offer expert presentations once again throughout the event. The Trend Forum enables colleagues from various countries to gather for engaging and enlightened dialogue and informal debate on topical industry issues and themes during the course of the three days. Visitors find that this provides an excellent setting for those all-important ad-hoc business contacts for which the RDA-Workshop is renowned.

This year’s social evening will take place on Wednesday 6 July 2016 at a local venue to be announced. RDA-Workshop participants – exhibitors and trade visitors alike – can enjoy good company, delicious food and of course local beers in an atmospheric event. Tickets may be ordered from the RDA-Workshop Touristik-Service or purchased at the ticket desk during the exhibition.

“Strong personal relationships, efficient contact networks and co-operation at national and international levels are the unique selling points of this exhibition – the largest international sales and purchasing platform for coach and group travel products and services,” adds Schwenck. “Opening up to new ideas and meeting new people is essential to achieving sustainable UK business growth. For our industry, there is no better time and place than this “jour fixe” get-together in Cologne Fair Halls 4 and 5.”

RDA-Workshop visitors may prepare their appointments in advance of the exhibition and find potential meeting partners with the RDA-Workshop 2016 Exhibitor Directory which will be available online beforehand.

The RDA – International Coach Tourism Federation  is Europe’s largest umbrella organisation for the coach tourism industry. It has a membership of around 3,000 companies from 40 countries and provides a forum for B2B, market research, legal and fiscal advisory services, training and political lobbying at both national and European Union levels. The RDA is a founding member of the European Alliance for Coach Tourism (EACT) of which CTC (UK), CPT (UK), CTTC Ireland and ETOA (UK) are members.
