Oxford Bus Company engineering director Ray Woodhouse has retired after 42 years’ service. Woodhouse joined Oxford Bus in 1976 as an apprentice electrician and served for 15 years before taking a two-year break to run a family business. He returned to the company for a further 27 years and in his second stint Woodhouse moved into management and progressed to engineering director where he has led the engineering team at Cowley House, Oxford, overseeing a fleet of 280 buses and coaches.
Phil Southall, Oxford Bus Company managing director says: “Ray was a great colleague and servant who will be missed by the team. He oversaw a lot of changes in the industry, with the complexity of vehicles ever changing and we wish him all the best in his retirement.”
The role of engineering director has been merged with operations as part of a business review and restructure and Paul Hennigan is the new service delivery director.
